Poor dogs

Poor Oscar and Effie. Thomas torments them like this EVERY day. If they are around, he is bugging them. He is starting to learn about soft touches but it's a slow process! The cutest is when he lays on top of Effie and sucks his thumb. Sometimes he even gets in her bed with her and cuddles with her.....not in this video though!

Thomas first "real" Christmas

Seeing as Thomas was only 4 months old last year, he had not much idea of what was going on. Not much has really changed actually but we were able to give him presents and he got excited. We had fun opening things on Xmas morning, but he did keep running around the living room playing with things that are not toys (ie. coasters, the stereo....) while surrounded by new toys. One toy that he did really love though was a dog puppet from his Great Aunt Gail Black. Thomas is obsessed with dogs. He spots them miles away. Seriously. Before I even hear or see them, he is going "ruff ruff, ruff ruff" and then lo and behold, a dog pops up somewhere. Gail loves dogs too and we were super thankful for the dog puppet. Thomas loves it as you can see.

Thomas sounds

I had to video this in the tub because if I try when he is playing he just wants the camera out of my hand. So the only place to get him to do his sounds was in the tub! :)

Thanksgiving in Palm Springs

We flew down to Palm Springs for Thanksgiving this year. First Thomas and I, and then Shem joined us on Tuesday. Thomas did SO well on the plane rides that people were stopping us telling us how good he was. He was smiling and laughing at everyone. We went swimming every day and Thomas went golfing for the first time with Grandpa Dan and Uncle Doug. He even had his own little set of clubs. He had a little bit of a hard time away from me as you can see in the picture where he is laying on the floor sucking his thumb with his favorite blanket. Gma Arlene read him tons of books and they had an awesome time together. By the end of the week he was as attached to her as he was me....almost. We also went to a light show at the Living Desert. Thomas loved it and ran around screaming the whole time. My shy guy suddenly disappeared in the circus of darkness and Christmas lights. Not sure what happened but he was having the time of his life. We all argued over what time to eat Thanksgiving dinner, with or without Thomas. I got my way (without Thomas) and then changed my mind so he could eat with us. Haha.

Into the woods

Shem takes Thomas on a little Daddy trip every weekend. One of his favorite places to take him is to the redwoods. Thomas loves it, Shem loves it, and I love that I have some time to myself! Thomas's new skill is eating an apple all by himself. He loves apples! He has also learned to say more and more words. His favorites are Mama, Dada, DogDog, Night Night, and What's a monkey/cow/fish/lion say? He also yells alot for things when he wants them but doesn't have a word for them yet. I feel the tantrums coming!

Unhappy Halloween!

We had grand visions of trick or treating around the neighborhood. Then we put Thomas's costume on him (a gift from our friend/Thomas's babysitter who's Mom made it for her son), and it all went downhill from there. He hated having it on, either crying or running around trying to rip it off. So, we stayed home, and passed out candy. Not so bad considering he certainly wasn't going to eat candy and I don't need it, so it worked out! ;) As you can see, I thought modeling the mouse head for him might get him into it. That didn't work either.

This is why..

This is why we cut his hair! It's cute....but, it was getting LONG!

First haircut!

Thomas's hair was getting a little unruly, and a little, well, mullety. So, we decided to get him a cut. I was to scared I would mess up, so we took him to the Panda Room in Corte Madera. I totally thought he would cry but, he was totally fine!!!! I was shocked. He played with a little basket of toys and even sat in the chair. 8 minutes later, he had a haircut! It was sad to cut off the little baby curls, and he looks more like a little boy now but, I am glad we did it! After his haircut we checked out the giant turkey and the fountain at the mall, and then had dinner at Pacific Catch where we can get fish, and Thomas ate chicken fingers and sweet potato fries for the first time!

More PA pics

I forgot to upload the pictures of Thomas swimming in the creek, and meeting all the animals at Ivans.  Here they are!
